I read a great book I can recommend. The book is titled "Multiple Streams of Income" I found the book is a good tool for what ever business your in or want to start. It also gives some good ideas for additional income. I used the book for ideas. I don't recommend chasing the get rich quick schemes that seem to surround the topic. That being said I did like the book.

Small Business

I have been self employed as a Real Estate Appraiser for 6 years. It was difficult in the beginning to get clients and keep a steady stream of income. I worked a part time job for six months after I got licensed before I got my first order. Being self employed or starting a small business is hard work. Its even harder in a recession. I'll be keeping this blog to share my ideas with others and hope to gain some effective strategies as well.

If you have an existing small business or starting one. My first suggestion is to cultivate your personal network DAILY. Cultivating your personal network does not mean promoting your business all the time. Your network will feed off of itself after while as long as your active. Promote your business to your network at appropriate times. If you serve your network, your network will serve you. The following are also vital to success.

  • Stay current with your industry.
  • Stay current with the tax laws (very boring!) or have a great accountant.
  • Keep up to date with the Health Care bill being proposed. The Health Care bill is not just about health care. It effects small business in a big way! Do your homework!
  • Look for free advertising.

Your small business is 100% percent dependant on America's freedom. There is more going on now in washington than ever before. Protect your freedom. This is not a politcal blog. I only mention politics from time to time because it DIRECTLY effects your ability to profit.
